Mission Statement
Essence of Acting Inc., a 501c3 non-profit corporation with tax deductible status, is a network of professional actors who rehearse, perform, and produce presentations primarily of underserved playwrights . Our goal is to increase the ability of these playwrights to be seen by wider audiences. We develop a creative relationship with these playwrights via workshops to help enhance accurate and understandable portrayals of their characterizations, the storyline, and the message.
The company also has a mentoring program for young talent stressing the "Iron Sharpens Iron" discipline.
Essence of Acting Company
This is the actual performing ensemble of actors started in 2015. The company consists of 15 members ranging from Broadway, film, and television performers to actors newly entering the business. Entrance to the company is granted by audition only. Many presentations are enhanced by talented guest artists to complete the roster of roles. The EOA Performance Ensemble has produced productions, and numerous readings in person and in the Zoom format.
